Caution: Malaria is worse in Mozambique than in other countries in the
region. Bring a mosquito net, insect repellent, and take malaria pills
if you are planning on travelling in Mozambique.
Banks
Keep US dollars or South African
rand handy when outside of Maputo. (In southern Mozambique, you can
often use South African rand for purchases.) Banks charge high
commissions (sometimes as much as 10%) for changing money, especially
traveller's cheques. You can rarely use credit cards or exchange
traveller's cheques outside Maputo.
Visa's
All visitors to Mozambique need a visa. Visas are obtained at
embassies in nearby African countries or in various international
cities
